- Standing Water in a Viking Dishwasher: A Boston Diagnosis A film of water in the sump is designed behaviour; a level deep enough to cover the filter is a drainage failure. Work through the filter stack, the drain hose and the disposer knockout before blaming the pump — the sound of the drain step separates a blockage from a dead one. 7 min
