The oven was overshooting by thirty degrees and burning the tops of everything. Cavity sensor had drifted badly. He measured it cold, replaced it and ran a calibration before he left.

Broil element was only glowing at one end. He found corrosion at the terminal block rather than the element itself. Cleaned and replaced the block, which came to far less than I had feared.
